I found it difficult to lean back into an airplane seat while using this travel pillow. The back portion of the pillow is too bulky and firm to fit comfortably against the back of the airplane seat. I couldn't adjust the cushion on the back of the airplane seat to find a compatible position with this pillow. I purchased this travel pillow to take with me on an international flight and it was not comfortable for sleeping. I ended up using it more as an arm rest rather than a pillow to keep my head upright.
