Like Melanie (see review dated June 17, 2016), I received an open, USED, damaged dishrack in a perfect, crisp box. Not acceptable, no matter how much the item is. On the up side, I could see for myself how it fares with prolonged use (see photos): (1) Apparently the manufacturer applies a protective film to the stainless steel. It flakes and peels off. (2) Although the box clearly says, "Rustproof," it rusts. All over. (3) The wooden knife block once had a clear lacquer-like finish, but water gets under it. (4) Water spots seem impossible to remove. (5) The steel scratches easily.
