Story is great, but the KINDLE VERSION IS EXTREMELY BUTCHERED - DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION!
Having read this book in print, and having experienced mild cases of questionably-rendered digital versions of other books, I was appalled at the extreme sloppiness and lack of rigor with regard to the digital translation of this book - didn't anyone proof it before posting it on Amazon??? Heck, a simple spell-check session would have been nice. This is the worst digital conversion I have ever experienced. The first tip-off is that in the print version, Christina refers to her mother as "Mother". The Kindle version changes the spelling to "mother" universally throughout. Funny, I grew up thinking names had to be capitalized in proper English. Christina Crawford wrote it that way, so why does that not come out in the Kindle version? The word "lose" is constantly displayed as "loose". Hyphens appear where they should not. Some sentences are simply constructed funny. Having read the original print version, I know Christina Crawford couldn't possibly be a careless writer, so it is unforgivable that this completely junky translation to Kindle does such a great disservice to Christina's very important story. Shame on whoever authorized this digital version - a fifth grader could have done a better job. Do not reward sloppy work - do not buy this version! I'm so sorry I did!
