"Ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?" -Dirty Harry
This is (very sadly) an edited review; my original, 6 weeks ago, was a 5-star enthusiastic endorsement. My last order was a 3-pack shipment that broke my heart! Instead of the smooth, peanut buttery texture and rich chocolate flavor of my previous jars, I opened a jar of completely separated, watery, oily ingredients. The worst aspect was the taste: I stirred the goo in the jar until soupy but completely blended; tasted it: NOT THE SAME. The contents of this jar had a bitter aftertaste, and was not as chocolate-y nor rich as my first 5 jars. It was easy to compare, as I still had some left in the jar from my last order.
I contacted the seller, describing my experience and asking if they'd changed their formula? I received a form email in response: informing me that this was simply because I live in a warmer climate area; all I needed to do was stir and refrigerate it and it would be fine. Ouch. I would have been OK with the separation and consistency, but that final order DID NOT TASTE the same. It tasted spoiled. I had communicated this to the seller, but my form letter response told me to stir, refrigerate, and all would be well. No replacement, no refund, not even an apology. FOR THREE PRICEY JARS OF SPOILED PRODUCT! According to their response, apparently MY sense of taste must be off.
I then read the one- and two- star reviews: almost all of them, word for word, describe the same experience!!!
In conclusion: ordering this product is a gamble. The odds are in your favor if you live in a cool climate, or if the shipment is not subjected to warm temperatures in transit. Looking at the current percentage of 5- and 4 star compared to 1- and 2-star reviews, I estimate you have a 90% chance of getting a GREAT product. However, if your order is one of the 10% that is a watery, separated, strange tasting goo, there is no recourse. Just like in Vegas, you LOSE! My guess is that the odds of getting a great product are much better during the winter months.
And me? I so loved my Coffee Booster that I decided to improvise that day with some ingredients I had at home. I added a little MCT oil, organic coconut cream (not milk: cream!), and a bit of organic powdered cacao. I was SHOCKED. I liked it BETTER than the original Coffee Booster. Yes, my morning routine is now a little more work, but WHAT A SAVINGS! I want to thank Coffee Booster for inspiring me to create the best cup of coffee I've ever enjoyed. And needless to say: those 3 gooey jars of Coffee Booster will be my last.
