Like a few other people have said now, I feel I have to add my voice to the concerns over the carafe. We've only used the machine three times now, and as I went to put the lid back on the glass carafe, using a gentle wiggling motion, not pushing straight down on it, it shattered under my hand. I have now three cuts of varying severity on my fingers, and I feel like I got off lucky. This is not a joke folks! If you want the machine to use to make coffee, fine. BUT PLEASE! REPLACE THE CARAFE WITH SOMETHING BETTER!!! We are now using a plastic container to catch the coffee, but I'm sure some actual QUALITY glass, like Pyrex, would also be fine. BE CAREFUL when you use that carafe!
