PLEASE DON'T BUY. This will destroy your natural balance if you have great skin to begin with.
I got swept by all the good reviews of this product on Amazon and by all the beauty gurus and influencers on YouTube, touting the benefits of Vitamin C serum. I caved and bought this product based on the glowing reviews saying how much this serum has changed their skin and brightened it. I have dry, sensitive skin so I did a patch test for a few days and everything seemed great. I was hoping it could brighten my dull skin and possibly reduce my dark circles. I used it morning and night, applying a few drops before my oils or moisturizer. I didn't see a beneficial change in my skin. Instead, I developed a weird kind of skin condition that was acne-like without the normal whiteheads of pimples. I had this for months and used every over-the-counter acne product that my skin normally responds well to. Nothing worked. I've done extensive research on my skin condition and found out that I have Malassezia folliculitis, fungal "acne". Nothing in my normal routine could have been the culprit, other than this TruSkin serum. I'm guessing since Vitamin C is an antioxidant, this serum may have destroyed the reactive oxygen species on my skin but also got rid of the good, normal flora of my skin, leading me to develop an overgrowth of Malassezia. In addition, who knows if the exact concentration of Vitamin C in this serum? Was my bottle contaminated with fungus? I deeply regret purchasing and using this product. Beware of beauty gurus and aestheticians who are not board-certified dermatologists, trying to persuade you to buy and use products that you don't need. I was blessed with good skin genetics and I've ruined my skin with this product. Now I am left with small, bumpy and resistant fungal acne that refuses to go away. I can't use my usual products since they are not considered fungal-acne safe. Thanks for nothing, TruSkin. Do yourself a favor and stick to a simple skin routine. Whatever you do, don't buy this serum.
