I bought this model food processor a year ago. From the very beginning I could tell the quality of the plastic used in this model was cheaper and more thin than my first Cuisinart food processor which I had for years and years. Within a month, a small piece of plastic broke off from the food processor bowl on one side where it secures the bowl . It was still useable and didn't effect being able to still secure the bowl to the motor. However, a month ago, my husband was chopping up a small amount of walnuts when the entire chopping unit started slowing down and eventually stalled out and would no longer turn the blades. Thinking it might just be the nuts, we tried to use it to chop some onion. Nope, it would not turn or budge so we have ended up having to throw away the food processor part of this duet. The blender unit of the duet still works but it too has never had the same power or the durability of the older model Cuisinart we once had and loved. Cuisinart quality has really declined and I am so disappointed in this product. I do not recommend it to anyone. I will be looking for another brand altogether. These problems should not be happening to a 1-year old appliance much less plastic breaking off after one month's use.
