★★☆☆☆
4th Generation cases falls short.
Over the years I have purchased 4 Kindles, one from each generation. They all have the Amazon brand cases on them. Up until now, I've had no reservations about spending the extra money for the Amazon name brand cases. Simply because they were the best product out there to protect my Kindles. I have tried mulitiply cases from other competitors trying to save a buck and found you only get what you pay for until now. The competitors cases never really felt right or fit very well and they never really offered good all around protection. Pros: 1. The cased is a snug fit. 2. The head phone jack is more open its not hindered as previous cases were allowing a more universal fit to allow more headphones jack styles. 3. The magnetic flip and fold feature dose improve on its ability to stand the Kindle on its side for viewing. Cons: 1. The edge of case is no longer the soft rubber that used to give it superior drop protection. It is now hard and stiff. 2. The cases edging no longer comes up and over the side to protect the Kindles screen from face drops. There is now a 1/8 inch of screen protruding past the side edge of the case. 3. The power and sound volume buttons are no longer covered by the the edge of the case. This yet again leaving the Kindle even more exposed to potential hazards and damage. 4. The whole right side edge of the case has been cut away and removed allowing for more potential damage. What good is a 3 sided case? 5. There was an addition to the outer binding of the case for the volume buttons. This serves no purpose! If your using your Kindle the cover is open thus exposing the volume buttons and rendering the binding buttons useless. 6. The price is still the same. Yet they keep cutting out all the features that made there case great in the first place.
