I purchased this about a month ago. It looks great, boils semi-quickly, and is very easy to wash. However, after about 3 weeks, I started noticing black specks in the water. There is a rubber element near the top of the glass container that was beginning to deteriorate due to the high temperatures, into the water. So, naturally, I removed it. And after removing it, the boiled water tastes like plastic. It's unmistakable. I've never owned a product with so much contamination, so quickly. I would happily rate this 5 stars if it wasn't prone to poisoning the customer. Honestly, this seems to be the product class action lawsuits are made of.
