Biased/Prejudiced telling of a true event
Not accurate depiction of the Battle of Saragrahi. The natives were apparently fighting to take their village Saragrah back from occupying British forces and not to avenge Akshay's character saving a women. The Sikh regiment was loyal to the British (they were the only ones who did not join the 1857 uprising) and tried to stave the tribes off using their positional advantage at an altiitude and behind a fort. No one wins in wars. The tribals lost 100-200 people on battle but got their land back eventually. Guess where Saragrahi is today? Somewhere between Pakistan/Afghanistan. The British hyped up the battle to inspire more Indians to fight for them in the next few big wars. They gave the Sikh regiment the highest honor (IOM) at the time for their sacrifice.
