★★☆☆☆
Sturdy construction, bad design and poor machining. Good thing thieves in my area have low IQ's
Second one that I buy of this exact same lock.
Good construction, poor design of locking mechanism. With a 10min youtube video and 5 minutes to spare I taught myself how to "pick" this lock by figuring out the combination in under less than a minute.
Sturdy construction, bad design and poor machining. The tolerances are so big I could look into the lock and figure out the combo without any tools.
I bought this to lock up my boat. The only reason I bought another one of this lock is that it is cheap, sturdy enough so that it can't be opened with bolt cutters, and because thieves in my area don't have an IQ high enough to pick or decode any type of lock; if they were to break in they would break the lock apart.
"Best cut resistance"? Ok I give you that, nice boron carbide shackle
"better weather resistance"? yes, my other lock has been out in the rain and sun for about two years now and it only has mild surface rust on the shackle in the form of discoloration. I might have sprayed WD-40 on it once or twice but it still hasn't seized up on me.
"anti shim" yes, but you overlooked going in from the other side, Master
but "7 out of 10" in security rating? Makes me think that level 10 is the lightest... You have to step up your game Master!
The blind dial feature is pretty nice it has come in handy with my other lock. I also use it to leave my lock at 0000 so if anyone opens my lock, or at least tries to, they most likely won't put it back in 0 so I will know someone has been snooping around.
Also if you really care, the rubber flap will break off or just fall off very easily.
Here is how i decoded it:
It is surprisingly easy to decode this lock, all you need to do is to set it on its left side and turn each wheel until you can see the gate over the number wheel. The gate is a deeper gap in the inner locking wheel. Find all four gaps and turn each wheel 180 degrees by moving up 5 numbers and your lock is open.
