This is a fake abuse of a talented woman's demise
Apart from some make-up effects, there is nothing in this film which captures the artistry, the humour and talent of Judy Garland The gestures and mannerism are inaccurate. The singing just plain awful. One wonders why they didn't have the decency to let the woman rest in peace. The play upon which this is based had a manipulative foul mouth troll version of judy' s last weeks. That was beyond offensive. This cleaned up version despite what the star actress's claims is not a tribute to a great talent. It made Valley of the Dolls seem like a minor masterpiece. I suspect it has made no money and I hope nobody awards the wooden artificial performance by its lead actress. And to end the film with two fey gay men leading a chorus of Over the Rainbow for poor snivelling wrecked Judy is a total lie and never happened. Shame on the filmmakers .
