I hate this toothbrush because it hates me
This toothbrush has two good features and one incredibly obnoxious one:
1) Pulses every 30 seconds to remind you to brush a different portion of your mouth.
2) Turns off after 2 minutes to let you know you're done.
3) Once it's off, refuses to turn back on until it's put back on its charging stand.
I have a permanent retainer behind my bottom front teeth, and I need to brush under it separately. Normally this would be fine, I would just turn it back on for another 30 seconds. But not with this toothbrush! I've got to take the toothbrush out of my mouth, put it on the stand, and then stick it back in my mouth. It is indescribable how gross this feels. But this is what the toothbrush forces me to do. It will not stay on for more than 2 minutes. It doesn't care about your needs!
Another thing I like to do is turn the toothbrush back on after I've rinsed it out to shake off the extra water. This keeps your toothbrush stand for accumulating as much gunk at the bottom, and it's very easy to do with a most electric toothbrushes. But not with this electric toothbrush! Even if you finish in less than 2 minutes, it will not turn back on again for you to shake the water off! Once it's off it's off and that's that!
Literally why. The pamphlet they give you says it turns off after two minutes because dentists recommend *at least* two minutes of brushing. They don't say *at most* two minutes of brushing! Just let me turn the thing back on!
It's not a battery issue. I know because it only has to be on its stand for a microsecond before I'm allowed to turn it back on. They just programmed it to be impossible to turn on more than once between charging.
I estimate the real battery life is around 10 minutes, which is sort of bad for a normal electric brush but since this one refuses to stay on for more than two minutes without being charged in-between it's a moot point.
I also have other issues with this brush but those are more minor.
