As a preschool teacher, I have had one of these in my classroom and have seen one in almost every classroom I have visited. This year I purchased one for my daughter for Christmas. I don't know what is different, but this one just seems very cheaply made. The calculator barely worked right out of the box and I thought that maybe that was due to lack of light on the little solar panel. For a few months, it limped along, numbers would appear on the screen, but the beeps from the buttons sounded like the thing way dying. Now, it seems to have completely died, as I cannot get the calculator to work at all. I'm very disappointed.
