We are extremely disappointed with this percolator. We bought it just over a year ago and it's already stopped working. It was getting iffy for the past month and totally gave up the ghost today. If you buy one get the extended warranty! I bought this because we have the same unit at our cottage that I purchased 10+ years ago and it's still working perfectly. This unit, while identical in appearance is not the same quality. We noticed that the internal parts show a rusty surface within a few months of the purchase. I originally thought it was discoloration due to the coffee but in fact it's surface corrosion - maybe stainless but a very inferior grade. The percolator still operated so I ignored the surface corrosion. It also tended to trip the ground fault circuit it was plugged into. Another sign of poor quality then today it quit altogether as I said. I think Hamilton Beach went for a low price point, sourcing this unit from China or worse, with poor quality control and you get that result. Very sad as we really like this product and our other is excellent.
