These are not cotton, the stretchy loops do not have sewn edges to keep them from fraying as they are washed, and the center seam on the mask has to stick out on the outside, otherwise it rubs your nose badly if you flip it around to not show seam. When first opening the package they also had a very bad smell that took 2 washings to get rid of. Since I washed them I cannot return, but I do not recommend them.
