After reading all the glowing reviews about this product, my husband and I thought we'd go for the gusto and get the expensive bread slicer and not waste time and money on the inexpensive models. Well, unfortunately, we wasted time and money on this bread slicer. I have to admit, it is made very well, of good quality and craftsmanship. But, you still have to "eyeball" carefully where to place the bread through the loop in order to get an even slice of bread. If the bread is place askew in any way, then you are going to get an uneven slice of bread. The slicer does NOT hold the bread loaf in place, nor does it give you any guidelines on where to place the loaf in order to get a good cut. It also does not hold it still while you're cutting. It was really no better than slicing it myself without any guide at all. I'm very frustrated and would really like to find a bread slicer that does the trick and takes all the guess work out of slicing homemade bread. Way too expensive for the result it provides. Plus, you have to pay to ship it back and it's large and heavy! Awful return policy. Very disappointed!
