These are not your father's Rockports.
I have had at least one pair of these shoes for the past ten years. I presently have three pairs. The most recent order arrived and as soon as I put them on, I noticed a difference. The shoe felt stiffer, with less compliance of the materials. What I originally thought was its greatest attribute, is gone. I'm not versed in the material content of shoes, but this current pair is absolutely not the same as my others. Gone is the softness and it feels like I'm wearing a Dutch wooden shoe as compared with past products. This pair is made in India. My other shoes are made in Vietnam. I don't know if that made the difference, but this shoe is definitely dumbed-down and now I'll have to look for a different shoe that is softer. Why would a manufacturer take a perfectly good product and ruin it by change?
