Can't punch consistent holes.
This hole punch was completely unusable for me, for two reasons. First, the paper stop is at the top rather than at the bottom. When I purchased it, I just thought it was different and I'd get used to it. I didn't realize at the time that there are a great many papers that are not exactly the same height. When putting together a stack of punched papers, I usually tap the bottom of the paper on the desk. Then the holes in the papers that are different heights do not line up, making the papers hard to put in a binder. The second problem involves sliding the paper into the hole punch. There is not a nice vertical backstop for them. Rather there's a nice angled ramp that lets the papers slide up and then into the crack where the puncher is joined to the base. (See the picture.) It is very hard to get the paper to stay down where it should be to get the holes punched the correct distance from the edge. This problem might be solved with a large stack of papers, but is completely unacceptable when only punching 1-6 papers. There are good things about the punch. It is very easy to press down. It is very attractive. The tray that catches the holes removes easily for cleaning, and doesn't readily fall off. It punches holes very cleanly and easily. But being unable to easily get consistent holes that line up properly makes this punch a no-go for me.
