FAKE BEAUTY BLENDER
The beauty blender on the left is one I purchased from Sephora. It feels lush dry & feels even more so when wet. The "beauty blender" on the right is one a friend gave me on the right. When I started using it, it felt a bit rough compared to the one I already had. Not that it was harsh on my skin, but it definitely felt like a cheaper material of "sponge". When soaked it under water & squeezed it until it was ready to use, the sponge felt even cheaper. For lack of a better word, the real beauty blender will feel plush & marshmallow-like while the fake one felt as if it could easily tear.
To the eye, they look exactly the same. The packaging, the instructions that come on the inside & the product is sealed, so why not buy it from Amazon? BUT- when you compare the quality with your hands, it should be consistent & be the same. You can tell from my attached photo that the tip of the right beauty blender & from Amazon (& even more in person) is not the same either. It's as if it was attached to anothe beauty blender at the tip & both were twisted off from each other to separate the two (aka excess sponge that the REAL one would not have).
A sponge is a sponge. I'm a makeup artist & essentially you can make it work if you really wanted to. But to scam customers thinking this is the real deal & making them think this is the quality of the Beauty Blender - IS WRONG.
My advice is to go to your local makeup store like Sephora & purchase it from there. It lasts much longer even after several washes & the quality of it is exactly what you should be getting.
