Floor attachment is defective - add $15 to $20 to the overall price to get a working vacuum
As many other reviewers have stated, the floor attachment doesn't stay attached to the wand for more than a few seconds when the vacuum is in use. The solution is to buy a universal floor attachment which should stay on the vacuum without any issue. I emailed with Bissell's social media customer care team and in spite of all of the complaints, they claim it's unusual and they can't imagine why the attachment won't stay on (implying they don't already know that the attachment is defective and haven't figured out what all of the Amazon reviewers already have). They asked me to box up the vacuum and send it to them at their expense. They'd keep it for 2-3 weeks and then tell me what they decide. I assume most folks make the same decision that I did and spend the extra money to buy a new attachment.
It's an inexpensive vacuum so I didn't have high expectations when I bought it. But I actually still think the vacuum is worth purchasing as long as you know you'll need to spend the extra money on the attachment.
Pros:
- Great price
- Strong suction
- Easy to assemble
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Floor attachment is defective/useless
- There's still a "burning rubber" smell when I run it. I had hoped the odor would fade with use.
