Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I buy a TON of stuff from Amazon (Hello, my name is Christine, and I am an Amazon-aholic) and reviews weigh a lot on my decision to buy something or not. I decided to buy these based on the fact that they were 4.5 stars with over 50 reviews. Usually I can disregard negative comments and still be very satisfied with the product I receive. I really really wanted to like these, but unfortunately, I should have listened to those negative reviews and chosen other ones. But in reality, how could I have really known since usually the ratings work in my favor? I digress... The number one issue with me is the disgustingly nasty chemical and "stale cigarette smoke" smell (as another reviewer put it). I thought, no problem, I am gonna overcome this issue with a little Febreze and then they'll be just fine. Nope. Then a lot of Febreze. Nope. Then about 50 sprays of this animal biological deodorizer and laid them out in the hot California sun for a couple days to air out. NOPE. Then about half a bottle of XO Neutralizer and another couple days baking in the sun...THAT'LL DO IT! N-O-P-E. Just sniffing it each time to check if the smell was gone brought on dizziness and headaches. Maybe the smokers out there won't be offended by this product, but as another reviewer said, his earbuds began to pick up the smell...and I just cannot bear having that toxic stench transfer onto anything else of mine. It is really too bad, because although they are of cheap quality and the zippers are kinda wonky, I would have definitely kept them if it weren't for the practically migraine-inducing odor. One star because they are unusable to me and would not offer them to anyone I know, and after all the things I did to get rid of the smell, why is it still so strong??? Smells toxic and harmful to me. NOTE***On the same day I bought another kind of the same brand for my friend, but made out of the fake leather, and it hardly smells...go figure. But it's still a tiny bit there...I'm gonna go with a JLAB case instead.
