Proprietary zigbee implementation requires Alexa.
Be aware that this is not really a functional zigbee hub, it is a proprietary Alexa device that uses zigbee. If you're Google Home user you'll need to keep your existing zigbee hub for your automations. Amazon has locked the zigbee functionality to their Alexa solution so unless you want to replace all your minis, etc. forget about the'zigbee hub' functionality. It's not really a full featured zigbee hub replacement.
