Kinda Sketchy coming from a certified welder (Worth the read)
I am a full-time welder who was looking for a little buzz box welder to do some small house projects and some small portable welding repairs. I have multiple stick welding certifications so I am very familiar with SMAW welding. I liked the idea it could run off of 220 but I only had a 120v at my house for now. This machine struggled with 6010. It was as nervous at running 6010 as I was in middle school asking out my crush lol. I was pretty disappointed since I read other reviews that this machine could run 6010 (3/32). It ran 6011 (3/32) decently for the most part but it did have a lot of inconsistency with the arc stability. The gripe I had was that it did not even show the correct amperage for 120V. When I was using 6011 I had it originally at 90 (pretty hot on a normal machine but it can go) it ran so cold. The welds were lumpy and it had a tough time starting. So I cranked it up another 20amps. Getting somewhere but now I'm at 110amps (that's pretty hot for a normal machine) it started to run decently but again really cold weld. I then started thinking that the machine was only supposed to hit 150 amps on 120v. I got nervous so I decided to run 155 amps. It ran decently as if it was actually running on 80amps. I soon realized that this machine was displaying the wrong amperage which is very sketchy in a welding situation. Really not worth the buy if your looking for a small stick welder that can be run off of 120v to do some small repairs.
