8/2018 - update - no longer holding any significant charge - have to go through warranty which is a nightmare - not recommended even as a giveaway - B&D has engineering standards that are strictly 3rd world - recommend Ryobi $24 shop hand held vac with 2 18v lithium batteries for so much less ================================================================================================= This is the second B&D handheld I've bought this week the first being the HHVI320JR02 model which I would've given a "-5" (see my other review) because the battery life on it was horrible. This model on the other hand almost twice as expensive BUT significantly better. The good: -good suction at nozzle for what it's intended to pickup, and remains consistent throughout the work -nice sleek design and no tools to lose as the nozzle extension is built in along with a brush head -gets into tight places -it is very light and easy on your arms -this model has a charge indicator and a base that you place it in, albeit the base is less than stable -this model has a pre-filter which is plastic and significantly improves the quick cleanup that should go along with a dustbuster -charge time from box to dust is about 3hrs and 28 minutes timed on my stop watch -work time at full load before battery fade is approximately 12 minutes and an additional 3 useless minutes to safe shutdown (point where unit turns off so the battery does not drain completely) again on my stop watch -solid 2 year warranty and 30 days money back guarantee The bad: -unstable base needs to be placed somewhere that is not prone to being knocked over by kids/pets/etc. -unit construction is not heavy duty so any significant drop on a hard surface will definitely cause it to crack -battery is sealed and does not have an option for a battery swap so you can continue working (for example if you're vac'ing your SUV/truck) -16.2 AW (air watts) seem low for a 20V tool - 18 to 20 AW would be more consistent with other similar tools - bad engineering? high drain and low suction lots of wasted motor energy Bottom line - probably one of the better B&D dustbusters and would definitely recommend you look at only 20V and above based on my own experience. On this initial use I would recommend it for quick cleanups (albeit it's a luxury item at over $60 for a small, 12 min vac) but need to spend a week with it to be convinced so I can see if the charge process and battery life stay consistent and within the same range.
