This seemed great, but then it was noticeably removing either the seasoning or its making the cast iron flake off. I can see it flake off into my food now too (see photo). I have several cast irons and have used them for years practically daily. I've always taken great care of them, so I'm really upset that this has ruined my favorite Dutch ovens. This ringer is a good concept, but believe me you don't need it. Just use a sponge with a scrubber on the other side, never any soap. Wish I had not used this on my cast irons! Updated photos. The first ones show the flaking, another shows a cast iron I didn't use the ringer on but maybe once or twice, and the one with onions sauteing shows black flecks of the dutch oven , it's not pepper. Very sad!
