I bought the 'new' version of this thing back in March, and since day one it didn't have any resistance higher than that if you were riding on a constant flat surface. After ProForm having me perform several 'fixes' through the console to no avail, they told me to call their tech line. Over the course of a couple months I repeatedly tried to get through on this 'line', only to sit on hold from anywhere from a half-hour, to AN HOUR AND A HALF. Never actually speaking to someone, but having to hang up because I simply ran out of time. Luckily after communicating this online to them, they sent out a 'tech'. It took 3 weeks for the guy to show up,and when he did, he stated the problem was that Proform left out some vital pieces during manufacture. So he apparently installed the missing parts and pronounced it 'fixed'. Unfortunately I hopped on the thing only to find out that not only DIDN'T he fix it, he made it even worse. My 'flat ground' was gone, and now it was like I was pedaling down hill in the shortest gearing. Now it was un-rideable. He told me it was NOW because something else magically had gone south, and he would order yet more parts to fix it. So a couple weeks later more parts showed up, and a week after that the tech showed up again and installed them. And again nothing was fixed. He then ordered a new console, some circuit board, and a third part I have no idea what the heck it was. He showed up and installed these three items, and now not only doesn't it work, when 'pedaled', the thing sounds like it's trying to eat itself. At this point the 'tech' said he was at a loss as to what it was, and left. He managed to leave a gift behind however, as he dumped his tools on my fireplace base, scratching the piss out of it, and he also to a chunk out of the wall behind where he was working. The funniest part about this whole thing is, despite their 'tech' dumping a multitude of parts in the thing over the course of two months, nevermind the fact that it never worked from the get-go, Proform isn't willing to replace it. They also aren't willing to take responsibility for their tech's damage inside my house. They told me he is an 'outside contractor', and I need to take it up with his company. Proform has shown that once you buy their product, if you're lucky they'll make a half-assed effort to honor their warranty, and if you're not, they'll place the blame on their own technicians, telling their customer(s) to take it up with them. Horrible company to do business with.
