My mother came to visit me in DC and fell in love with my ZZ plant, but when she returned to Idaho, could not find one to purchase locally. I decided to surprise her by ordering one from HIRT'S on AMAZON.COM. My mother being my mother was so polite and told me that the plant she received was great, but when I asked her to send me a picture of it, I could not believe my eyes. It was not a plant, especially not like the one shown in the picture. Instead it was one small cutting about 6 inches tall in a plastic pot. Even worse it was drowned in water and died two weeks after my mother received it. The irony is that my mother has an amazing green thumb and can keep any plant alive. I on the other hand have a difficult time with plants and yet what i like about my ZZ plant is how hearty it is. It can go weeks without water and still recover. Hirt's has quite a scam going with their plants. I will attach a picture of the plant my mother received them vs the one in their advertised photograph and you can decide for yourself.
