I slept on this mattress for 18 months and after about a year, I started getting terrible backaches. The mattress was sagging and compressed on the side I sleep on. It was very apparent when I took the sheets off and you could see an indentation of my body. I am a smallish person, weighing 115 lbs. I posted a pic with my initial review showing the visible indentation of my body and the manufacturer sent me a replacement. They said they improved their design. Now I have been sleeping on the replacement for a year and started experiencing the same thing--back pain, general stiffness, and disrupted sleep. This is a single sided mattress so you can't flip it. I would try to switch sides every month to prevent it from getting worn on only on one side, but it made no difference. After one year of a smallish person sleeping on it, a mattress should not be sagging and hurting my back. I am in my early 40's, fit, with no health or back problems. I feel like a creaky, arthritic 80 year old woman getting out of bed every morning. I really wanted to love this mattress, and wanted to support a small, independent business, but I cannot endorse this mattress. I used a 2 inch latex topper and a mattress pad on each of mine and it didn't help because the support underneath (the mattress itself) just wasn't there. If you look at the breakdown of the reviews by stars, many of the 4 and 5 star reviews are people who have purchased this mattress for their children or guest room, or people who have only slept on it for a week or two. The 3, 2, and 1 star reviews tend to be from adults sleeping on the mattress themselves. One thing I will say is that I noticed a lot of reviewers complaining about the smell. I had two of these mattresses and didn't notice a smell on either one, although the manufacturer says it may smell more in humid climates (I'm in the desert).
