Amazon used to sell quality lightning cables like this one: AmazonBasics Apple Certified Lightning to USB Cable - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters) - White Unfortunately this latest version is NOT the same. The connectors are much lower quality (looses connections easily) and the wire itself is thinner, less flexible and of poor quality as well. I had purchased the original "AmazonBasics" Apple Certified Lighting cable linked above in April 2015. Still have it, works great. I've added a wall outlet with built-in USB chargers (really like it BTW) TOPGREENER TU21548A 4.8A-24W Dual Port In-Wall USB Charger Outlet Ultra-High-Speed/2 Receptacles 15A, 3 Face Covers So I decided to buy a couple more of Amazon's cables. Sadly I didn't read the recent reviews indicating how poorly these cables are made - not to mention some catching fire! Not worth returning so they'll go into the trash. Based on a review from the Wirecutter (and 85% 5 star reviews here) I spent a little more and purchased a couple of these cables: iPhone Charger, Anker PowerLine Lightning Cable (3ft) Apple MFi Certified / Charging Cable, for iPhone 7 / 7 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus / 6 / 6 Plus / 5 / 5s / 5c, iPad mini /Air /Pro iPod touch (White) They're really worth a few dollars more.
