I thought I was getting a helmet made in USA.
I just received my expensive welding helmet only to discover "made in china" on the bottom of the box! I mistakenly figured since Lincoln Electric is a proud American company that has a great reputation and over 100 years of making quality products I would spend top dollar for a "made in USA" welding helmet. This is my eyes I am protecting here so I don't want to get cheap china made eye protection. I ordered the black version but they do sell a model with stars and stripes artwork and "AMERICA" on it! Imagine you paid extra for that and then see "made in china" on the bottom of the box! AND get this, there are a bunch of stickers in the box with the helmet and some are the USA flag so you can stick em on your helmet. Of course there is no China flag sticker. Seems that that would be quite appropriate since it is made in china. Shame on you Lincoln Electric for using a stars and stripes patriotic smoke screen to sell your products. At this point I am not sure if I will keep this welding helmet or send it back. I will check the local welding stores to see if I have an option. I will update later.
