Don't waste your time if you want to use this in a refrigerator. The product I received was not an appliance bulb, as claimed. The seller put an imitation bulb or a dud in the packaging for a GE appliance bulb. The bottom of the plastic window surrounding the bulb was not sealed closed. When I placed the bulb in my fridge, it lit for less than a second than quickly burned out. The bulb specs are exactly the same as my previous bulb, but it obviously is the wrong bulb or a inferior product. I've included a picture of both bulbs (the new and my old bulb) to prove they are supposedly the same. The bulb with the milky purple glass is the bulb I just received from Amazon that burned out immediately after being placed in the socket of my fridge. The milky appearance came after it burned out. You can see the clear bulb, which is the original bulb from my appliance, did not have corroded contacts when it burned out. These knock off bulbs are cheap and probably not GE. You can see from the images that the specs for the new bulb, as well as the packaging claims it is a GE appliance bulb, but that is not the case. Either GE has completely lost quality and started manufacturing their bulbs in Hungary, or this is a seller trying to pass knockoffs as GE originals. It's not safe for use in refrigerators.
