Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Oh my word. I really don't know where to start...especially given all the rave reviews. I guess it was just written for a MUCH younger audience. First off, I hardly liked ANY of the characters, except maybe Seth. Rylie was obnoxious before becoming a werewolf and definitely after. With few redeeming qualities I found myself wishing someone would slap her. Often. SPOILERS - I felt as though the author sat down every few pages and thought, "what cliche social issue should I throw in now?" I mean, we've got: divorce, teenage rebellion, drugs, gay best friend, lesbian aunt with HIV/AIDS, losing a favorite parent at a young age, hitchhiking, boyfriend's family hates her, teenage sex... (at 13? really?!), "mean girls"...and those are just off the top of my head. Ridiculous. And I stopped at 50%. In fact I don't even know how I lasted that long. I asked my husband, "do you ever keep reading a book that you just don't like?" When he said no, I realized I should move on...there are much better books out there!
