I purchased this over a month ago to replace a KitchenAid stick hand blender that I loved, but gave to one of my children. Upon first use, I discovered this Cuisinart product was incredibly difficult to operate quickly and efficiently, (and impossible with one hand) because of a ridiculously placed, and impossible to reach "safety button" on the top of the handle which must be released EVERY TIME you want to start/re-start the blender. When I went to use it the first time......it took me 10 minutes of frustration and an unexpected need to read the product instructions before I could even figure out how to turn it on. Using it once....I thought.."THEY MUST BE KIDDING". Totally inefficient and stupidly designed; you do indeed (as other reviews have noted) need to have 3 hands to use this....one to release the safety button, one to depress the speed button, and one to hold the container....yeah....all at the same time, each and every time you want to blend. Picture this...you need to pulse your food 3 or 4 times for 5 seconds? Well, each pulse requires that you go back to release the oddly placed safety button first. So incredibly angry....I've had it too long, unopened and sitting in its new box, to enable me to return it (greater than 30 days)....but the design makes no sense, for easy and efficient use, which is, of course, the whole purpose of these little appliances in the first place. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT...buy the KitchenAid instead!
