Thought this was a great clothesline, but....
Initially when I purchased this clothesline, I really liked it. It works well and can be packed away easily. Getting the base permanently installed in the ground was a little tedious. My husband dug the hole, put some aggregate rock in the bottom (for drainage) and used a couple bags of Quick-Crete concrete to secure the plastic sleeve that the base slides into. The concrete sleeve has a cap attached to it, so you can cover the hole when not in use (or when mowing the yard). It took overnight for the concrete to set, but by the next morning I was hanging away. It spins in the base, so I can easily access the entire dryer without having to constantly be on the move.
NOW 2 MONTHS LATER: I found that I could only use EVERY OTHER line on this dryer due to them being too close together (the clothes would touch if I hung them on each line)... making 1/2 of the available lines unusable. Then...one of the metal arms broke. The fasteners just pulled loose... does not appear to be repairable. I came home to find my clothesline collapsed and URGH! I admit, I did little actual research before purchasing this line dryer. I saw it had good reviews, was fairly inexpensive, and Amazon Free Shipping. Now that is has broken, I ended up splurging and buying a Hill Rotary Clothesline. My poor hubby had to REDO all of the concrete he installed for the Household Essentials line (had to pull up the concrete with a tractor, redig the hole deeper and wider, redo the aggregate rock, remix and repour the concrete with the new base for the Hills Rotary. Now the new clothesline (Hill) is SOOOOO smooth, the perfect distance between lines, lifts up (with a crank) to get the clothes higher in the air (seems to dry faster). AND had a 10 year warranty. I would recommend spending the extra $ and buying a better quality clothesline if you are planning on doing a lot of hanging or using it as your exclusive mode of drying clothes.
