I am an IT person in a small company. I've had the device since November of 2017. I purchased this product to back up data and to make transitioning laptops to SSD's an easy thing. Problem is, it only works for me about 1/3 of the time. I end up going back to my old HDD enclosure to do the job. Sometimes the power light comes on (drive is on) and sometimes not but most of the time, Windows 10 and 7 say there is an I/O error and it doesn't recognized the device (so it doesn't recognize the hard drive). I've used new SSD's (Samsung 512, 256, 128) and standard 7200rpm drives with the same result. While it isn't totally useless (it does work 33% of the time), it is not nearly reliable enough for me to only take it on service calls or even to be my "go to" on the bench. I keep trying since it is USB 3.0 and my backup is 2.0. I have no skin in your game, but from my perspective, my device is not reliable at all and if you don't have a "back up" solution in case this doesn't work, I'd look further. My purchase of this product was due to the 4.5 star rating and over 3k responses. I guess I got a lemon?
