I've purchased Ashwagandha powder & Cacao Butter (twice) from Terrasoul and they were just fine, so I thought I'd try the Cacao Nibs. Eversince being diagnosed 4 years ago with 2 disabling autoimmune conditions I have been very conscious about using food-based "medicines" if you will, to improve my quality of life and wellbeing. I've been using Cacao nibs for nearly 4 years as part of this journey. I use 1 tablespoon every day as an additive in my "buttered" coffee & occasionally a 2nd serving in my daily smoothies. Because I've had good bags and not so good bags over the years, I think I know what to expect. I prefer the nibs over the powder because I'm getting as close as possible to the original form in taste & nutritional value. I also know what NOT to expect in taste: sweet(er) like a dark chocolate. But, I've never had TERRIBLE ones like these before. Even though the smell was very offputting, I tasted them anyway. I had to spit the gravel out! They are dusty, dried-out, full of debris, & beyond bitter like they are rancid! PLUS the expiration date is ONLY 2 MONTHS AWAY!! I'm extremely disappointed especially because I TRUSTED this brand based on previous purchases; they are expensive; AND although purchased using PRIME they are not returnable!!! Never again.
