horrible
I will never purchase another Asus product again! I have a Sabertooth 990fx motherboard with a 5 year warranty that the sound went out mid October 2012. I called in on the 10/18/2012 (I believe) to setup an RMA. Turns out that board qualifies for and advanced exchange. AWESOME, I thought, But that is where the awesome stopped. After exchanging some info with the person on the phone he said my board should be available within 24-48hrs and they would ship it to me, and all I had to do was swap the boards out and place the broken one into the shipping box and send it back. Easy enough? WRONG!
On 11/8/2012 I called again because I had not received a new board or even an email or tracking #. The person I was talking to said they had not received my CC authorization form to place a hold on my CC and thats why it was not sent out. When I setup the RMA the person never said anything about this form nor was it ever emailed to me. The rep tested the email address I had given them by then sending me the form. I got it immediately, so obviously they had the correct info. Someone had just failed to do their job. I then had to wait until I got paid on the 15th to fax in the form. At that time I called in AGAIN (11/15/2012) and went over the information on the form on the phone with one of the support reps to make sure it was all correct before I faxed it over to make sure there were no more mishaps. I hung up the phone and immediately faxed the form to the fax # on top of the form. Just to make clear, the form was filled out on a computer then printed, signed by hand and then faxed.
Now it is 11/27/2012 and I still have not received the board nor had the hold been placed on my account or any emails or phone calls, so I called in again. This time I immediately ask for a supervisor. I was put on with a person named Andrea (sp?). Andrea looked over my info and tells me that it looks like they got my form but when I originally setup the RMA they have to have the board held at the warehouse and they only hold them for a few days. So why was I not told this when I called in on 11/8/2012 or 11/15/2012? She said she didn't know but that they should have told me this and re-submitted the RMA then. I'm getting furious at this point It has been over a month and I still have a broken board. She says there is not much she can do except resubmit the RMA to the warehouse, So she does while I am on the phone, even putting in the notes how urgent this matter is and what has gone on. She said she would personally call me by either end of day 11/27/2012 or the next day as soon as she received confirmation that the board was ready to ship.
It is now 12/5/2012 almost a week later and I had not heard from Andrea. I'm a busy person who works 9-5 (their support hours) so getting free time to call in is not always easy. I had a slow day today so I called in and immediately asked for Andrea. She gets on the phone and looks up my stuff again, and they haven't responded to her request to reserve my replacement board! I'm passed the point of being nice at this point and tell her I need to speak to whomever is the big boss down there. She puts me on hold for a few minutes and then tells me they are in a meeting. I tell her I want the boss to call me as soon as the meeting is out (this was 10am). She says she will let them know and that she has CC'd the email explaining my situation to the warehouse to the boss's and that they should get it immediately. I told her that I was done being nice and to let her bosses know that if they could not get me a replacement board (read refurbished) in a box, shipped out overnight today, that it was time to put a brand new one in a box and ship it to me. It is now 4:30pm and I have not heard back from anyone.
I have been a loyal Asus customer for years, and have never had a problem with any of their products. This time I purchased their so called enthusiast level, military grade component board and a bit over a year later it fails on me. And after a month and some change im still rocking a broken board because apparently nobody communicates in Asus support. I told her that If I did not get this taken care of today that I was going to get on any and every forum I could find and let this be known. So this is it. I hope someone loses their job over this. Asus sure has lost a customer. Ill be purchasing MSI from now on. It took my friend 8 days to get a replacement for his $60 no frills motherboard. So ill be giving my $$ to a company who appreciates and takes care of their customers.
