The sandal that put Orthaheel by Vionic on the map was the Tide. I have several pairs and got relief from the pain related to fallen arches. The original Tide's high arch and deep heel cup allowed me the support to be able to walk pain free again; but that was then. The Tide II and this sequined style Tide have a different footbed than the original. Vionic's motivation is, in my opinion, to be able to sell more footwear to the masses, not just for people like me with specialized foot issues. They actually lowered the arch and made the heel cup higher so the support I counted on is gone. I am so disappointed. Another issue that I read on some reviews before ordering is the strong chemical odor. Yes it exists, when I opened the box the pungent smell filled the room and even transferred onto my hands. The sizing is the same I am a 7 1/2 foot and sized down to the size 7. The style was cute but without that arch support I couldn't wear them.
