This book was awful! I was so disappointed. In today's world when all you see & hear is pain & heartache, I found myself drawn to this book that seemed to hint at a happy ending. "Make Blackwood Manor a place of healing at last" was about as far from happy as you can get. I came to care for the characters & wanted so badly for then to overcome but was left sad & depressed. She let them down as well as me. **Spoiler Alert** I don't think I'll ever get over the cruel visual of a brutal killing of the elephant. If this would upset you, then avoid this book!!!
