First, what I got does not look like the photo. The pic shows an all silver/chrome adapter with ridges in it. What I got is white at the top and completely smooth. You should know that it's entirely plastic too. It installed without a problem (the only positive thing about it). The LED doesn't change colors with temperature. In fact, it doesn't stay a single color at all. It just randomly blinks different colors, regardless of the water temp.
