Horrible mistake that cost me the lives of 2 puppies, almost 3. I've used these before and had so/so luck with them (they seem to quit working after short periods of time). I saw them on sale and decided I'd try them out again. Put a brand new one in with my litter of 5 perfectly healthy, active 4 week old English Bulldog pups. 1 died within 12 hours of putting it in with them. Another one died the next day, and a third was on its deathbed that evening. After a thorough vet visit where they examined both dead puppies and my 1 sick pup, my vet told me my puppies had been electrocuted. The ONLY thing that could have done it was the heating pad malfunctioning and shorting out. The puppies could not chew on the pad or the cord either, this was strictly from shorting out out of the blue. I took the heating pad out and haven't had a problem since. So frustrating and heartbreaking!! I just purchased several of these on sale, they will be going in the trash and will NEVER use these again.
