Side entry is a disaster
I wanted this to be successful. I really did. My very large, elderly male cat doesn’t always squat to urinate anymore. He goes into the box, squats a little and then lets loose. I have a large box for him but I needed to put plastic up on the back end for overshoot. When I saw the dimensions of this box I was thrilled. The box is higher than he overshoots. It was a match made in heaven....except for one thing. Instead of putting the entrance on the long end like just about every other box on the market, they put it on the side. In other boxes, he goes in, turns around and goes on the back side. Here, with the entrance on the side, there is no room for him to turn around, so he just squats and shoots out yhe very low opening. ALL of the urine, except for a trickle, goes out the opening and all over the floor. I have no idea why they deviated from their original design, with the opening at the end. Had they kept that design, it would have been perfect. This design and my cat are a disastrous combination. I’m going to call the comany and see of they have any suggestions, but if they don’t, it goes back.
Addition: Spoke with the company and they suggested their original model....and went as far as sending me a coupon for one. EXCELLENT customer service!
