It takes all kinds
I found the film to be very entertaining.
A hilarious comedy where criminals offer deadpan delivery of an alternate reality wherein they didn’t commit crimes but rather are unsung heroes.
Excellent screenwriting mind blowing creativity in some instances. It is obvious the writers have spent enormous effort to create an alternate truth that is so closely intertwined with reality.
However, toward the end the constant rumble of bass underlying a seemingly passionate call to action was difficult for me to connect with. SPOILER: In the end the call to action is to reject media that is false (which I found to be contradictory) “tell all your friends on social media” what is true and if that doesn’t work to shut down the CIA, FBI and “intelligence” because they are bad.
Ultimately a little confusing because the deadpan delivery got too real in the end I guess. These guys could take a lesson from Sacha Baron Cohen; give the audience a wink and a smile and a chance contemplate the absolute absurdity of what you are presenting every now and then.
Changed to one star after realizing this isn’t a bad comedy but rather it is a weird sad last gasp of some really pathetic people.
