Throwback to 1950s Commie Infiltration Propaganda With Bonus Islamophobia
Who should watch this film? Frightened xenophobic people who want unsubstantiated assertions that support their fear.
Who should skip this film? People who value facts over unsubstantiated assertions and fabrications.
Due to its many inaccuracies and outright lies I can't call this a documentary. This movie attempts to convince you that communists and their sympathizers, and subversive Muslims, are about to destroy the USA. And the narration and many of the people interviewed speak so slowly that I wished Prime Video had YouTube's 2x speed adjustment. It's as if they think speaking slowly lends them more gravitas. Or maybe they think that's as fast as their target audience can absorb information.
Here's an early quote from the narration: "Democratic socialism is like stage one cancer." So objective! Then the movie continuously equates socialism with communism.
There are too many errors and opinions misrepresented as facts to list in this review. But there are some mistakes so egregious and so easily fact checked that I have to assume they are intentional lies. Here are just a few:
* Journalist I.F. Stone "was identified as a paid Soviet spy." But according to his biographer "the FBI never identified BLIN [spy code name] as being I.F. Stone, and, instead suspected Ernest K. Lindsey."
* "The Communist Party USA has influence and control over many members of your Congress." How absurd, the CP has about 5 ,000 members and not much money. And we know it's money that gets access and influence in Congress. The Koch brothers alone probably have thousands of times more influence in Congress.
* "Democrats support Islam and are associated with Islamic terrorist groups." All I have observed is Democrats supporting the First Amendment, which requires the government remain neutral with respect to religion. Apparently many Christians now see neutrality as favoritism. And the movie "supports" its claim of associating with Islamic terrorist groups with absurd chains of relationships and outright fabrications.
I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
Instead of watching this film, use the 90 minutes that it will take from your life for something positive.
