Even at this price point, this thing is garbage. Here's why: 1. Engineered flaw- Hard coded into this device is its fatal flaw: The "cool down period." If the camera detects motion and begins recording, it will stop recording after 12 seconds, and then wait for between 1 and 5 minutes (your choice) before it records anything else. This "cool down period" is not necessitated by the technology; rather, its just a way for the company to force you to pay for their cloud storage feature. If you do that, the cool down period magically goes away. What about local storage? Yes, the device does have local storage, but that is subject to the cool down period as well. 2. Engineered obsolence- The other fatal flaw with this device is the non-removable battery. When the battery gets low, you can't just pop out the battery and charge it. Instead, you must remove the entire device from wherever it is mounted, bring it inside, charge it, and then return it to its mounted location. Once that battery loses its ability to hold a charge, the entire camera is junk. 3. Advertised two-way audio doesn't work. The audio is so distorted that the person at the camera could not understand a word that I was saying. This is going back to Amazon.
