The product design is very good and It would normally be expected to work well for what it is designed for but there are 2 problems and one of them is fatal. 1. More of a lip is needed on the front for normal soil retention, but that is no biggy and can be compensated for. 2. Much worse, it is advertised as being made of HDPE which is an excellent plastic and in black it would normally be expected to last many years outdoors. However, one of the 3 that we ordered had its upper left corner broken almost all the way off (3" x 3" break) and that should never have happened. If the plastic had been pure virgin HDPE it never would have broken, but this plastic was brittle which indicates a heavy use of clay fillers in the plastic. Not uncommon in $4.00 wastebaskets, but it has no place in something that is supposed to survive decades outdoors and in fact, it assuredly won't. It isn't the fact that it was broken that I am unhappy about, it is the fact that it is definitely made of a low grade consumer plastic that is utterly inappropriate for its intended long term outdoor use. I am an engineer and I do understand plastics. Amazon is replacing the broken one and I will put them up, but I will absolutely not buy any more of them and I would highly recommend that you do the same.
