Device went from perfect operation to failing in just 6 weeks
I had an experience like many others. My H10 worked flawlessly for six weeks. I kept a close eye on the app's battery level and it held up at 100% charge, until one day it dropped and gave a low battery warning. I replaced the battery right before my next workout and everything seemed fine, until I got another low battery warning during the workout. The battery depleted in less than 2 hours from 100%. I assumed it must have been a bad battery, I bought a different brand (same as OEM, energizer), same thing. Started out at 3.3 volts as measured by my Fluke multi-meter, and dropped to 2.7 volts after just over one hour of use. Once the battery hits the low level, the monitor starts to lose its mind. I tried a total of 5 batteries with the same result.
Since the monitor is 6 weeks old, my return window with Amazon closed. I contacted polar, and it turns out I need to send it to New York at my expense for analysis, upon which I need to pay for return shipping of the return device. I kind of need the monitor because I am monitoring a heart "event", and need to keep my heart rate from getting too high when I work out. If you get one, do not count on having it when you need it, looking over other reviews it appears that device failure is very common. And, the cost of repair is quite high when you consider all the shipping costs and time spent, almost not worth it.
