I had to return this item, the electronic chemical smell was so overpowering it was impossible to use it. The food would have tasted nasty. I tried the burn off that should have removed the smell, but it remained and my home smelled after the appliance was removed.. I can not say if it fries well, didn't put food in it. Since some reviewers say they did not have odors I would assume I had a faulty unit. Amazon quickly accepted my return and the tech support was helpful.
