If you experience ANY breakage or malfunction after exactly 1 year you will NOT be able to repair/replace it. My experience was that after 13 1/2 months, the replacement on/off switch froze in the Off Position. I popped out the switch assembly easily, which was modular, and is designed for easy replacement with ready-to-go, slide-on electric terminals. When I called McCulloch to purchase a replacement switch assembly, I was told that these machines are made in China and that they cannot get ANY parts - they only replace - INSIDE a year. The only thing they did when I persisted, was to offer a token discount on purchasing a new one. Purchase a new one? Not only will I never purchase one of this brand ever again, but I will do my best to alert any interested party: Buyer Beware!! This machine can very easily last one year only. Worthless company, with no up-front disclaimer that you're SOL if outside the 12 month warranty. Tossing it out will be your only option. UPDATE: I turned my sleuthing talents to finding an alternative ON/OFF switch. For $1.50 + shipping I bought Part #7500025 illuminated AC mini rocker switch from DelCity.net And guess what? It's pretty much the exact same switch and fits perfectly. I got personalized service from the head of the Tech Dept to make sure he was sending me the right thing. The connections fit great (connections are numbered), and the switch assembly popped right back into place. So now the steamer is up an running again...until something else goes wrong! (There are also YouTube videos of people making repairs on the inside of the machine, so repairs must be possible - just not by the people who made it Harrumph!!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND Del City for small specialty electrical items - they rock!! McCulloch? Not so much...
